Liza Miller is the protagonist in the television adaption of Younger, in which she is portrayed by Sutton Foster.
Liza is a 40-year-old mother who lies about her age in order to get a job in publishing. Throughout the series, Liza lies to everyone she cares about, but her secret comes out slowly. Liza is the ex-wife to David Miller and mother to Caitlin Miller. Liza has an on-again, off-again relationship with Josh, a 20-something tattoo artist from Brooklyn, and her publisher at Empirical Charles Brooks. She is best friends with Maggie Amato and Kelsey Peters and shares close friendships with Lauren Heller and Diana Trout.
She appears in every episode of the TV series.
SUMMARY[]
Liza Miller is a 40-year-old woman who lies about her age in order to gain a job in publishing. The story begins with her return to the job field, she realizes that no one will hire her because of her age. After being hit on in a bar and confused as being 26, Liza and her best friend Maggie Amato come up with the idea to lie and become 26.
Liza scores a job at Empirical Press as the assistant to Diana Trout. She starts a romatic relationship with Josh and soon falls in love. Liza's storyline surrounds her lie and the struggles of her love life as a divorcee.

The series begins with Liza being interviewed for a job in publishing, after taking 15 years off to raise her daughter Caitlin Miller. During the interview Liza finds out that she will not be hired because of her age. Her best friend Maggie Amato helps her lie about her age to score a job and lets her move into her apartment in Brooklyn. With the help of Maggie, Liza scores a job at Empirical Press as the assistant to the Head of Marketing, Diana Trout.
After a chance meeting in a bar, Liza meets Josh and the two shortly begin a romatic relationship (Liza Sows Her Oates). Liza and Kelsey Peters form a strong friendship bond (Girl Code) after Liza saves Kelsey from a potentially humiliating situation.
